Problem.
“Having recently ripped my ACL and having to personally use walking crutches for the past few weeks, I noticed how uncomfortable and polarizing the experience can be for the user.“
After a brief online research I discovered that there are no convincing alternatives to be found and that this product category is still significantly underrated. With a personal history in medical-design, I therefore set out to re-design my crutches, with the goal of creating a useful tool that will still be affordable, yet also beautiful and that user's would not have to be ashamed of using.
Crutch C1.
The new design features a sleek, minimalist aesthetic with a more neutral color and smartly placed color accents.
By adding comfortable silicone cushioning to all major touchpoints, the user can now use the device for significantly longer before developing discomfort. Thereby allowing for a less restricted lifestyle and a, in total, higher quality of life.
